How We Check Towers Before They Ship

A tower that assembles badly on a mountain site costs more than the price difference between two quotations. So inspection here is not one final look before the container closes. It runs through six points, from the day the steel arrives to the day the container door is sealed, and each point leaves a written record.
The Six Checkpoints
| Stage | What we check | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Steel intake | Grade, thickness and mill certificates against the order | Mill test certificates, batch-matched |
| 2. Cutting & drilling | Member length, end angles, hole positions to drawing | Parts that bolt up without reaming on site |
| 3. Welding | Qualified welding procedures; visual inspection before galvanizing | Weld records on request |
| 4. Dimension & trial assembly | Sample towers assembled on the ground; bolt fit checked | Trial assembly photos on request |
| 5. Galvanizing | Coating thickness measured on production pieces | Coating thickness records per batch |
| 6. Packing & marking | Members coded to the erection drawing, bolts packed per tower set | Coded packing list matched to drawings |
Galvanizing Standards We Work To
All carbon steel parts are hot-dip galvanized. The coating class is agreed in the contract; the two standards our export customers reference most:
| Steel thickness | ISO 1461 minimum local thickness |
|---|---|
| ≥ 6 mm | 85 µm |
| ≥ 3 mm to < 6 mm | 70 µm |
| ≥ 1.5 mm to < 3 mm | 55 µm |
| < 1.5 mm | 45 µm |
Where the project specification calls up ASTM A123 instead, that is what the coating is measured against. Either way the measured values are recorded, not estimated.
Documents That Travel With the Order
- Packing list, coded to the erection drawing
- Steel mill test certificates
- Galvanizing coating thickness records
- Dimensional inspection records
- Erection drawings
- Trial assembly and container loading photos on request
Commercial documents (invoice, bill of lading, certificate of origin) are coordinated with your nominated freight forwarder.
Third-Party Inspection
Inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, TUV, Intertek or your own engineer is welcome, and we prefer it booked at order stage rather than after production. That way the visit lands on a trial assembly or a galvanizing batch instead of an empty workshop. We provide the workspace, lifting and re-test access the inspector needs.
Company Certifications
| Certificate | Scope |
|---|---|
| ISO 9001 | Quality management system |
| ISO 14001 | Environmental management system |
| Occupational health & safety | Workplace safety management |
| Steel structure qualification | Chinese fabrication qualification for steel structures |
| Production licences | Power transmission towers and communication tower products |
Certificate copies are available on request. Where a project calls up an EN 1090-2 execution class, the fabricator must hold a valid Factory Production Control (FPC) certificate: state this at inquiry stage and we will confirm our current FPC status in writing in the quotation rather than assume it.
Your Inspection & Test Plan
Many EPC contracts come with their own ITP. Send it with the order. We map each of your inspection points to our production stages, agree witness and hold points in writing before production starts, and record results in your format where the formats differ. This is routine work for us, not a special request.
Frequently Asked Questions
What certificates does the factory hold?
ISO 9001 quality management, ISO 14001 environmental management and occupational health & safety certification, plus a Chinese steel structure qualification and production licences for power and communication tower products. Certificate copies are available on request.
Can we inspect the towers before shipment?
Yes. Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, TUV, Intertek or your own inspector is welcome. Book it at order stage so the visit is planned around trial assembly and galvanizing dates.
What galvanizing coating thickness do you guarantee?
The class is agreed in the contract. Where ISO 1461 applies: 85 µm minimum local thickness for steel 6 mm and above, 70 µm for 3 to 6 mm, 55 µm for 1.5 to 3 mm. ASTM A123 is applied where specified. Measured values are recorded and shipped with the order.
Which documents ship with a tower order?
Packing list, steel mill test certificates, galvanizing coating thickness records, dimensional inspection records and erection drawings, plus trial assembly and loading photos on request.
Can you follow our inspection and test plan?
Yes. Send your ITP with the order. We map your points to our production stages and agree witness and hold points in writing before production starts.
Have an ITP or an Inspector?
Send the inspection and test plan with your drawings. We will come back with the mapped hold points alongside the quotation.
